Ajanta Caves  Location: ~105 km from Aurangabad city About: A UNESCO World Heritage Site with 30 rock-cut caves dating from 2nd BCE to 6th CE. Highlights: Magnificent murals, sculptures of the Buddha, monasteries (viharas), and prayer halls (chaityas). Tip: Closed on Mondays ; best visited with a guide to understand the art stories (Jataka tales).  2.
